PDA becomes crime with juvenile

William CraftPublic display of affection may be considered bad manners but when it's between an adult and a minor, it's against the law.

William Craft, 21, of the 500 block of N. Main Street, Sibley, is charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile.

According to Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper, on Saturday, May 18, Sgt. Ryan Barnette was dispatched to a parking lot on Goodwill Street after a caller indicated there was an adult male subject in a car with a female juvenile.

"She was underage and they were parked in a lot, doing some things of a sexual nature that called attention to them," Cropper said. "Barnette talked with Craft and the juvenile who both admitted to kissing heavily and groping one another in the parking lot. Witnesses told the officer there was some type sexual activity going on between the two of them."

The chief said Craft was advised of his rights, booked at the Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
