Acting workshop held in memory of Cotton Valley woman

cborginal-1Aspiring actors can now learn the art of acting and begin living their dreams of becoming a Hollywood star.

Charnele Brown and Andre Pitre will present an Acting Workshop, Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Charnele Brown is best known as Kimberly Reese on "A Different World."

She's an actress, producer and singer.

Andre Pitre is a singer, actor and producer. He recently completed a stage play with Tyler Perry called "I Don't Want To Do Wrong."

"It's very exciting to me to be able to work with them," said Terrell Mendenhall, Community Youth Action Group, (CYAG) Public Relations.

The workshop, sponsored by Community Youth Action Group, is open to the public for ages seven years old to adults.

It will include hands-on acting, scripts, drama and singing.

CYAG works with at-risk youth to change their personal life and education through positive youth development programs. CYAG is focused on providing high-quality youth programs for schools, churches, and community organizations.

The workshop is in memory of Councilwoman Arnese Parish of Cotton Valley who was killed while taking a group of students on a youth trip to Tyler, Texas. It will be held at the Clarion Hotel in Shreveport, 1419 E. 70th Street.
