David Errol Beavers went peacefully with the angels at age 74, on May 6, 2013. He was a long-time resident of Longview, employed at Marathon LeTourneau where he was a Quality Control Manager, retiring after 37 years, then working as a consultant at Amega Industries.
He was born in Homer, graduated from Homer High School and attended college at Northwestern State University at Natchitoches.
He enjoyed being home and working at the "farm" in Louisiana. David also enjoyed traveling with his wife to places in the south. He was an avid LSU fan, never missed watching a game or listening to it on the radio.
David was a devoted husband and father and grandfather, loved his family and his little eight-pound terror, Lulu.
David is survived by wife, Pat, of 52 years; a son, Tim; daughter-in-law, Dee; and two wonderful grandchildren, Mikel and Micayla. He is also survived by his sisters whom he loved dearly, Nell
Thomas and Eileen White. He is survived by a large family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Toni; a brother, Dwight; and a sister, LaQuita.
Memorial services will be held at McCary's Chapel United Methodist Church, 5758 N. Old Hwy 135 in Liberty City on Monday, May 13 at 1:30 pm. Flowers may be sent to the church on Monday. Contact number, Eva Schuler, 903-746-1756.
