SIBLEY — The Lakeside Warriors split a pair of games over the weekend. Friday, the Warriors defeated Homer, 15-0, and then fell to Evangel, 14-3, on Saturday.
In Friday's win, the Warriors scored six runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back, scoring seven more in the third and a final two in the fourth.
Luke Griffith and Cameron Gray combined to shut-out the Pelicans over five innings. Griffith started and took the win with two hitless innings. He also struck out six batters. Gray went the final three innings, allowing three hits while striking out six.
Chase Woodall had a big day at the plate, going three-for-four with four runs batted in. He singled twice and tripled.
Jake Gray and Cameron Corely both had two hits and two RBIs, and Josh Prince doubled, singled and drove in a run. Coulson White drove in two runs and singled and Thomas Lambert and Austin Ashley both doubled. Cameron Gray added a single.
Against Evangel, the Warriors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Evangel went on to score 14 of the next 15 runs to take the 14-3 win.
Ashley, Corely and Griffith all pitched, with Ashley taking the loss.
Woodall singled and drove in a run, and Corely doubled. Ashley and White both singled.
