Nehemiah "Nick" L. Palmer IV will be the guest speaker Thursday at the noon meeting of the Minden Lions Club.
Palmer began his fire service career in 1995 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. During his tour he served as a Fire Fighter/Crew Chief at Hickam AFB, HI and throughout the Pacific Region.
While in the military Nick had the unique privilege to train and respond to a wide variety of subjects such as structural and aircraft firefighting, confined space and space shuttle rescue, and the use of a variety of firefighting apparatus. While serving in the U.S. military, he realized the importance of quality and realistic training along with his desire to help others achieve their best.
In 2005, Nick moved to Shreveport, where he now lives with his wife, Rene, and two children, Quint (8) and Samantha (3) and serves as Manager of LSU's new satellite training facility at the Pine Country Education Center in Minden. He is also currently enrolled at LSU Eunice, where he is seeking a degree in Fire Science.
The Lions meet every Thursday at noon in the American Legion Hall on Pine Street.
