"My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips." Psalm 63:5 NASB
Previously David stated in verse 1 that his soul thirsted and yearned for God as he faced the trials of life in the desert wilderness.
Now his soul is completely satisfied, having been fully filled with God's great glory, love, and power. Marrow and fatness described the best, finest, and richest of foods like those provided at a great banquet.
David would have accepted simple bread to eat, yet God has satisfied his soul with the finest food.
Thus with spoken words, he publicly acknowledged God's provision and greatness. Even though still in the desert, he joyfully praised God, singing hallelujah!
Lord Jesus, even in times of distress in the wilderness, You always provide for those who seek You. I lift up my voice in praise and thankfulness for Your great goodness and provision.
