JONESBORO — The Lakeside Lady Warriors traveled to Jonesboro on Tuesday and came home with an 11-4 win over the Jonesboro-Hodge Lady Tigers.
The Lady Warriors scored a pair of runs in the top of the first as Lakeia Lyles reached on an error and later scored on a passed ball, and an RBI-single by Kim Coleman.
The Lady Warriors scored three runs in the seventh on a fielder's choice, a groundout by Emily Maness and a fielder's choice.
In the fourth, Paige Osborn and Taylor Doss both scored runs, and Madison Mouser scored in the fifth.
The Lady Warriors plated three runs in the top of the seventh to close out their scoring.
Emily Robinson led off the inning by reaching on an error. Mouser came in to pinch run. Coleman and Allie Maness each followed with singles to load the bases. Ashley Nunn then drove in Mouser with a
fielder's choice. Emily Maness then followed with a ground ball to second, which scored Coleman.
Another fielder's choice drove in Allie Maness with the Lady Warriors' final run.
Emily Robinson recorded the win for Lady Warriors. She allowed four runs over five innings. Robinson struck out seven, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Coleman led the Lady Warriors with two hits and two RBIs. Lyles went two-for-five and Ashley Hawkins, Robinson and Ashley Nunn all added base hits.
Lyles, Coleman, Mouser, Allie Maness, Paige Osborn and Taylor Doss all scored runs.
The Lady Warriors will host Homer High School today in a district game with the first pitch coming at 5 p.m.
