Warriors sweep Pelicans

SIBLEY — The Lakeside Warriors swept the Homer Pelicans in a District 1-2A double header Tuesday at Lakeside.
The Warriors won the first game, 15-0, and then took the second by the score of 14-4 to improve to 20-8 on the season.

Lance McGuire upped his personal record to 5-2 as he got the win for the Warriors.

Colby Sherrard led the offense with a single, a double and a triple, and Preston Gray singled and homered. Garrett Lambert singled and tripled, and Brooks Gray and Tre’ McDaniel each singled and doubled.  Tyler Wallace added a single and Austin Ashley doubled.

Chad Basinger was the winning pitcher in the second game, as he pitched three innings of three-hit relief.

Lambert led the way with a three-for-three game and Wallace doubled and tripled. Preston Gray singled and doubled and Brooks Gray and Koty Monday had two hits each. McGuire doubled and Sherrard and McDaniel added base hits.

“It’s a big week for us, as far as power points go” coach Gray said. “These were a couple of big wins for us, because if we want a future in the future, we need as many power points as we can get.

Lakeside will play at Springhill on Thursday, and at Choudrant on Friday.
