First responders remove the driver of a red Ford pick up truck, which was headed eastbound on I-20 Sunday afternoon when it reportedly crossed the median struck a tree near mile marker 50. No other vehicles were involved. The driver of the vehicle was reportedly taken to a local hospital for possible injuries. Fire District 10, Minden Fire and Rescue, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police responded to the motor vehicle accident.
Friday, emergency personnel check out a one-year-old child involved in an accident at the intersection of Pine and Goodwill streets. According to police reports, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Angela Coleman of Minden, was travelling east on Pine Street when she failed to notice a red traffic light. When she entered the intersection, her vehicle struck a 1996 Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by Kenneth Cosby, also of Minden. Coleman and the toddler were checked out for possible injuries. Cosby was uninjured.
Saturday night around 7 p.m. this big rig, hauling wood chips, laid over on Hwy. 531 at the intersection at U.S. Hwy. 80. It is unclear what caused the 18-wheeler to tip over.
