For most of us, it is so easy to get wrapped up in the business of everyday life.
We are all spread too thin, try to cram too much into a day, are too connected with our various technologies, and often are just too busy to stop and say "thank you" to those who mean so much to us.
During this Thanksgiving season, we should all stop and take a minute to reflect on all of the blessings that we have been given and to remind others just how important they are in our lives.
On behalf of Minden High School, I want to take this opportunity to say "thank you" to a community who continually pours out its heart, resources, encouragement, and support to our school and its programs.
Without you, we wouldn't be who we are. Minden High recognizes that we are an extension of this great community and we are grateful for that. Our students and staff appreciate all that is given to us year in and year out and I feel that it is most important to express that during this season.
It is so easy to get mired down in the negatives of life, but we all should remember what we have to be thankful for.
I, for one, am so thankful for my students who continue to amaze me by their talents, attitudes, and pride. Like most teenagers, they have their good and bad days, but for the most part, they are great kids who love their school and community in which they live.
I am also thankful for my hard-working faculty and staff who has been challenged and overwhelmed in past months with all of the financial and legislative challenges that we have all struggled to overcome. Through it all, they continue to strive to do their very best to assist students in their academic pursuits and the many extra-curricular activities that they are involved in.
Most importantly, I am grateful that I have been blessed to live in a nation where I am allowed to express my gratitude to those that mean so much to me and my family.
It is my sincere hope that all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving with friends and family and that you also take the time to truly reflect on all of the many blessings that we have. Please accept our sincere gratitude for ALL that you do to bless us at Minden High School.
Robin Tucker is the principal of Minden High School.
