Joe Arkansas, 22, of the 2700 block of Montana Street, was charged with felony theft and is incarcertated at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center under a bond of $25,000.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said Arkansas was working for a chain furniture company and was making a home delivery in Minden on October 14.
"He decided to help himself to a gold diamond ring valued at around $715," Cropper said. "On October 17, Arkansas went to a pawn shop in Shreveport and sold the ring for $150 to the pawn shop."
When police learned Arkansas had sold the ring, they reportedly contacted the pawn shop, and the victim was able to identify the ring.
"We obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Arkansas and received information this morning (Thursday, November 1) that he was being detained at the Caddo Correctional Center," Cropper said. "They had picked him up on our warrant, so we sent an officer over to get him."
The ring was reportedly obtained from the pawn shop and returned to the victim.
