A traffic stop around 6 p.m. last Friday netted Minden Police a man on drug charges.
Ja'Coriyan Combs, 23, of the 300 block of East Roosevelt was arrested for possession of CDS Sch. I (marijuana) with intent to distribute after the passenger in his vehicle told the officer there was marijuana in the car.
Chief Steve Cropper said Ofc. Danny Turner stopped the vehicle for a simple traffic violation – a windshield obstruction, when Combs' passenger offered the information.
"Combs admitted to officer Turner that the marijuana belonged to him and the passenger didn't have anything to do with it," Cropper said.
Search of the vehicle reportedly produced four individually-wrapped baggies of suspected marijuana between the seat.
"Combs was arrested and a criminal history was run," said the chief. "He showed a prior conviction for possession of marijuana in the state of Georgia."
Cropper said the passenger was not charged and was released.
Combs was booked at the Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
