The North Webster Knights are a team on the rise.
After losing their first two games, the Knights have now won three straight games. If they intend to keep that streak alive, they will have to beat the Calvary Baptist Cavaliers tonight in Shreveport.
Calvary comes into tonight’s game with a 4-1 record, including a 40-29 win over West Monroe and wins over Carencro (52-33) and Redemptorist (56-7).
The Cavaliers average 42 points per game on offense, while only give up an average of 20 points per game.
"Well, we'll be playing a nationally ranked team this week," North Webster head coach John Ware said. "We'll go over there and do the best that we can, and I do know that our kids will go over there and play hard."
The Calvary offense features a number of playmakers. Quarterback Daniel Fitzwater is among the area’s passing leaders, as he has gone 95 of 133 for 1,446 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Running back Orlando Bradford has rushed for 608 yards and six touchdowns, and receiver Weston Steelhammer has 19 catches for 327 yards and four scores.
But the Knights’ offense, led by quarterback J.O. Smith has been impressive of late and the defense has only allowed an average of eight points per game in their three-game winning streak.
Game time is 7 p.m.
