Serving warrants on one known drug dealer netted Webster Parish Sheriff's deputies a marijuana user in the process.
Richard Allen Brown, 46, of the 100 block of Posey Lane, was arrested recently on two charges of distribution of CDS Sch. I (marijuana) and one charge each of illegal use of CDS in the presence of a minor, possession of CDS Sch. I with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of CDS Sch. II.
Jamaul Delshon Crawford, 22, of the 500 block of Midland Street, was arrested for possession of CDS Sch. I (marijuana), second offense, which is a felony.
Capt. Robert Hayden, along with narcotics/CAD deputes Joel Thomas and Bobby Igo, III, as well as patrol deputy Wade Wells served search and arrest warrants on Brown at his residence last week.
"We've been investigating Brown for a while," Hayden said. "He has sold three or four different times to an undercover narcotics agent."
According to reports, the search revealed six bags of suspected marijuana, five of which Brown claimed ownership. One bag was claimed by Crawford, who was also arrested at the time.
Deputies also found three digital scales, "Zig Zag" rolling papers, a marijuana grinder, one box of sandwich bags, one baggie of suspected methamphetamine, $31 and two baggies of suspected marijuana seeds.
Brown reportedly claimed ownership of everything except one bag of marijuana, which Crawford allegedly admitted he purchased from Brown.
Brown and Crawford were booked at the Webster Parish Courthouse and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
Three of Brown's charges of distribution and possession totaled $150,000 in bonds.
