A Minden man and his accomplice are in jail for robbing a man who simply wanted his hair braided.
Victor Batton, 19, of the 800 block of Harris Street was arrested by Minden Police on August 13 and charged with simple robbery and resisting an officer.
Myeshia Rogers, 30, of the 300 block of Gum Street was arrested for simple robbery.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said Batton allegedly stole $1,400 in cash, debit cards and a gold ring from the victim at a Fincher Road apartment complex where he was having his hair braided.
"Ofc. Danny Turner and Ofc. James Barnes made contact with the victim who said he was jumped from behind by a man he identified as Batton," Cropper said. "Batton allegedly took these items from the victim and took off running. As he was running away, he handed off the items to a female later identified as Myeshia Rogers."
Officers located Batton later that night.
"Batton ran when the officers approached him, but he was tripped by a tree," Cropper said.
On August 16, officers reportedly received information that Rogers was at a residence in Pecan Trailer Park on Shreveport Road.
"Ofc. Chris Hammontree and Lt. Richard Cooper went to the address," Cropper said. "Hammontree went to the rear door, and when Cooper knocked on the front door, Rogers attempted to get free out the back. Hammontree took her into custody on the outstanding warrant for simple robbery."
Both were transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
