The Glenbrook Lady Apaches improved to 2-1 with a 12-2 win over Riverdale on Tuesday.
"I've been real proud of the way the girls have come out and played defense," Lady Apaches head coach Jonathan Hardy said.
Hardy also said the pitching and hitting have been good.
"Our pitchers have thrown strikes, which is important," he said. "And at the plate, we've been getting timely hits and have been putting the ball in play. We just need to do a better job of driving in runs when we have runners in scoring position."
Lucille Dayton was the winning pitcher and evened her record to 1-1.
Carsin Spurlock, Melody Hanson and Sunni Wilson each had a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Macie Branch had a RBI-single and Katie Kidd, Rayla Hardaway and Jessica Mangrum all added singles.
The Lady Apaches' next game will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at home against Riverdale.
