SHREVEPORT —Shreveport's Cargill Sports Complex will host the 36th Annual Sickle Cell Softball Tournament on August 17 - 19.
This prestigious tournament, known as the "Granddaddy of Them All," will feature over 175 men and women softball teams from throughout the south. This annual tournament's purpose is to benefit and promote the awareness of the Sickle Cell disease.
On Friday, August 17, some of the top home run hitters in the Ark-La-Tex will square off in the AT&T Home Run Derby, starting at 6 p.m. Come one and come all to witness this great and fun competition. Admission to the AT&T Home Run Derby is free!
Tournament games will begin on Saturday, August 18 at 9 a.m. Divisions in the tournament include: Men and Women A, B, C, D, and E. Team entry fee for the tournament is $225 per team, with double elimination.
