TV Station brings ‘On the Road’ to Minden
Minden was the backdrop for the KSLA Channel 12 program "On the Road" during live broadcasting Thursday night.
The City of Minden was selected as one of four communities for an hour-long live broadcast by the Shreveport station. The show focuses on the people, places, and history that make the community unique.
"It was a wonderful event and we appreciated all of the people who participated," Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce President Jerri de' Pingre' said.
She thanked everyone who attended the event and the great way they represented Minden.
Speakers included Minden Mayor Bill Robertson, local pro angler Homer Humphries, Northwest Techincal College Director Charles Strong and local businessman Kerry Easley among others.
In addition to local folk who gave interviews, the Minden High Louisi-Annes entertained as did the Minden High cheerleaders, Webster Junior High cheerleaders, Glenbrook dance line and Glenbrook cheerleaders.
The crew of the evening news – Domonique Benn, Pat Simon and "Stormtracker Steve" – were downtown for live interviews that aired during the 6 p.m. news.
The event was sponsored by The Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, Minden Main Street and the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce.
