Agents cracking down on local waters


Operation Dry Water, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries' annual crackdown on alcohol violations, ended this past Sunday. Five arrests were made statewide, none in Webster Parish.

"We take DWI enforcement on the water very seriously since the leading cause of boating fatalities is alcohol," Lt. Col. Jeff Mayne, the state's boating law administrator said. "We want everybody on the water to have a good time, but to keep in mind that they need a designated driver just like on land."
