He was born August 14, 1931, in Bogota, Colombia, a son of the late Zenon Maria Rodriguez-Ramirez and Berenice Medina-Zunega.
Dr. Rodriguez-Medina went to medical school at the National University of Colombia. His post-graduate training included internal medicine at the Jewish Hospital of New York and the University of Texas, the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
He was a physician at the MD Anderson, the Veterans Administration Hospitals, in both Arkansas and Louisiana, and most recently, private practice in Shreveport and Kingwood, Texas.
Additionally, he served as a Major in the U. S. Army. He had a love for animals, and devotedly served his patients over 50 years.
Family members include daughter, Rachel Rodriguez and niece, Glenda Albornoz-Chavarriaga and her husband, Guillermo, of Raleigh. In Colombia, South America, he is survived by six sisters, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
