Ted McFarland

Ted McFarland, beloved husband, father, brother and friend to many went home to be with the Lord the morning of June 18, 2012. Ted was born in Minden on April 5, 1946 to Irvin and Carolyn McFarland. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Audrey and Beulah White; and sister-in-law, Freda Sikes.

Ted graduated from Heflin High School in 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. At the time of his illness, he was manager of an oil field service company. He had worked in the oil field business for more than 30 years. His favorite pastime was hunting and fishing. Ted was a member of Minden Baptist Church.

Visitation for Ted will be at Rose-Neath in Minden today (June 19, 2012) from 5 until 7 p.m. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Rose-Neath Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Josh Beshea and Dr. Randy Harper. Interment will follow at Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin.

Ted is survived by his wife, Dianne White McFarland of Minden; daughter, Juli McFarland of Minden; brother, Richard McFarland of Heflin; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Brown and husband, Murell of Marshall, Texas and Judy Warren of Mendenhall, Mississippi; brother in-law, Ron Sikes of Keithville; several much-loved nieces and nephews; and special aunt, JoAnn Davis of Ringgold.

Pallbearers will be Murell Brown, Randy Brown, Chico LeBlanc, Gerald Dishman, John Bryant, Norman McMillon, Tim Waid and Greg Lilly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard McFarland and the Rev. Herb Whitten.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
