Campaign nets 200 tickets

A national effort to catch seat belt violators could be deemed a success on the local level.

Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper told members of the Minden City Council Monday that his officers wrote more than  200 tickets during the two-week “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

“We wrote 193 seat belt tickets and an additional 21 violations from initial seat belt stops totaling 214 violations for those few days,” Cropper said.

Each ticket was worth a minimum fine of $25.
