Council studies condemned property

City_of_Minden_logoAs part of their mission to keep Minden beautiful, city council members will address five structures today, which may be declared condemned.

When the Minden City Council meets at 7 p.m., they will look at three properties in District B, 700 Sibley Road – property of Andra J. Bradford, 202 Painter Street – property of Ethel Lee Burks and 204 N. Talton Street – property of Eloise Moncrief Estate.

In District D, the council will address structures at 447 Walter Lyons Road – property belonging to L.T. Rollen and 923 Lewisville Road – Jacob E. Patterson Estate.

In other business, the council is expected to appoint Mike Toland to the Minden Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Board, replacing Dr. John H. McConnell.

They are also expected to re-appoint Dr. Gary Daniel to the Minden Housing Authority Board of Directors.

One ordinance to rescind another will be addressed in order to correct the legal description of alleys and rights-of-way between Police and McIntyre Streets.

The last item on the council's agenda is the monthly police report.

The Minden City Council meets in Council Chambers at Minden City Hall. The public is invited to attend.
