Funeral services will be held for Patsy Ann Coile Peterson, 81, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Ray Anderson and Scott Moody, officiating.
Interment will follow at Adkins Cemetery on Standpipe Road north of Homer. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St., Homer today (Wednesday) from 5 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Peterson was born Feb. 26, 1931 in Plain Dealing to Isreal and Annie Gray Shaver Coile. She entered into rest Tuesday, May 29 at Minden Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Peterson loved fishing, working in her yard, sewing and music. She enjoyed playing all forms of cards, especially Canasta and she loved all of her family.
Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Aaron "Buddy" Peterson; her parents; one son, C.A. Peterson; and her sisters, Betty Rae Rice and Lillie Mae Moree.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Connie Peterson Day and Herbie of Minden, Kevin Peterson and Shannon of Dubai, UAE and Anita Peterson of Homer; her grandchildren, Tommy Day and Monica of White Hall, Arkansas, Tammy Ricks of Mineral Springs, Jeanne Wiggins and Glenn of Minden, Lynn Peterson of White Hall, Arkansas and Kyle Peterson of Platteville, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Savannah Wiggins, Dutton Day, Garrett Wiggins, Carrigan Wiggins, Kamryn Peterson and Addi Wiggins; her brothers, James Coile of Plain Dealing and Charles Coile and Betty of Ennis, Texas; brother-in-law, Steve Rice of Lake Charles; Patsy's special longtime friend, Faye McKenzie and her very special friends, June Payne and Mary Helen Stovall, that she affectionately called "sister-cousin's."
Pallbearers will be Jerry Matthews, Ronnie McKenzie, Robert Sanders, Wayne Tanner, Wayne Perry and Glenn Wiggins.
Her family would like to extend a special thank-you to the nursing staff of Homer Memorial Hospital and to Dr. John Jerius and staff of Minden Medical Center ICU.
