William L. ‘Buddy’ Gloer

William_Gloer621William L. "Buddy" Gloer, born April 25, 1917 in Cotton Valley, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, May 26, 2012 at the age of 95 years.

Buddy was an avid farmer and retired from the State of Louisiana Highway Department in 1980 after 30 years of loyal service. He was a man of faith who was admired for his dedication and moral integrity.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mable Gloer; siblings, Howard Gloer, Mildred G. DeLoach, Lillian Spoon and Janie G. Calhoun; son, David L. Gloer; daughter, Dale Gloer Milam; and three of the most important ladies in his life, Mary Frances Gloer, Gwen Boddie Gloer and Vivien W. Gloer.

He is survived by his sister, Marie and her husband, Irvin Dunbar; his son, George E. Gloer; several grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today (Monday, May 28, 2012) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Minden with Dr. Tom Harrison presiding. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden.

Honoring Buddy, as pallbearers will be Mark Gloer, Reagan Gloer, Chad Gloer, Trae Milam, Danny Milam, Sr. and Danny Milam, Jr.
