At the recommendation of Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper and Minden City Council personnel committee chairperson Fayrine Kennon-Gilbert, two Minden police sergeants received promotions during the council meeting Monday.
Sgt. Ronald Payton and Sgt. Al Seth Young were promoted to the rank of lieutenant after scoring 83 percent and 81 percent respectively on their Fire and Police Civil Service Board Police Lieutenant examination.

To allow 30 days for family members to demolish condemned property at 305 Hall Street.
Appointment of Sarah Haynes to the Minden Regional Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term of Barbara Dunaway who resigned.
Ordinances for abandoning alleys and/or rights-of-way between Shreveport Road and Yale Street and between Police and McIntyre streets.
A resolution appointing Mayor Bill Robertson as director and District D Councilman Tommy Davis as alternate on the board of directors of Louisiana Energy and Power Authority.
A resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for improvements at the Minden Airport.
