The Minden Crimson Tide baseball team closed out their 2011 regular season with a 16-2 win over Huntington on Senior Day at Griffith Stadium on Saturday. The Tide ended the regular season with a 24-5 record and a spotless 10-0 district record.
The Tide started strong, as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. They came back with seven in the second and five more in the third. Huntington would score twice in the top of the fourth, but it wasn't enough as the Tide won 16-2 in five innings.
Tyler Zachary improved to 3-0 on the year as he started on the mound for the Tide and took the win.
McCaul Lacobee led the way at the plate, going three-for-three with a pair of doubles. Coltan Haynes went three-for-four and Derek Herrington singled and doubled. Huntton Leppert singled and doubled and Turner Francis had two hits. Javieon Johnson singled and tripled and Zachary added a triple, and Devin Thomas a simngle.
The Tide will now wait until Tuesday playoff bracket announcement for their first round opponent. The first playoff game will be played at home at Griffith Stadium on Thursday or Friday.
