One of Claiborne Electric's members will leave the Co-op's 2012 Annual Membership Meeting as the owner of a new Kawasaki Mule 4x4 utility vehicle.
The Kawasaki Mule will be featured as the grand prize at the Co-op's Annual Membership Meeting, which will take place Saturday, April 21, at the Thomas Assembly Center on the campus of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.
The Mule 610 4x4 was designed to carry 400 pounds in its tilting cargo bed with tailgate latches. With an optional towing hitch, the utility vehicle can tow up to 1,100 pounds. The Mule can be driven up to 25 miles per hour and features off-road capability. It also fits in the back of a full-size pickup truck.
The grand prize will be awarded in a drawing of Claiborne Electric members in attendance at the 2012 Annual Meeting. The winner must be present to win.
For a chance to win the Kawasaki Mule and many other door prizes, members may register at the Thomas Assembly Center beginning at 9:00 a.m. on April 21. Each member will receive a gift during registration, which ends when the business meeting begins at noon.
Each Co-op member has been mailed an Official Registration Card, printed on an oversized postcard. Members who present their postcard during registration will be entered into a drawing for a new flat screen high-definition television. Drawings for all prizes will take place during the business meeting.
The nationally-acclaimed Gospel sibling quartet, The Ball Brothers, will be the featured entertainment. They will take the stage to perform at 10:30 a.m.
"We will be continuing our tradition of offering first-class Gospel entertainment to our members during the Annual Meeting," said Mark Brown, General Manager and CEO of Claiborne Electric. "The Ball Brothers are young and fresh, yet still grounded in the Southern Gospel style that our members tell us they enjoy so much, so we feel this group is a great fit for our meeting."
Raised in Central Illinois, the brothers began practicing harmonies at an early age. Andrew, Daniel, Stephen and Joshua used the harmony they learned to enter into a strong tradition of family groups in Gospel music. The brothers decided to mix that tradition with their personal style, adding youthful energy, excitement and fun to their performances.
According to the group, having fun while doing what God has called them to do is a passion.
"We like to have fun," said Daniel. "No one told us siblings couldn't be best friends."
They believe they have a calling from God to see souls saved and people encouraged through their music.
The business meeting will begin at noon and will include drawings for two college scholarships, all door prizes and the grand prize. Members must be present to win prizes.
Annual Meeting is an event exclusively for the members of Claiborne Electric Cooperative.
