Betty_Carter595Funeral services for Betty K. Carter will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church Minden with the Rev. Leland Crawford and the Rev. Bill Crider officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery in Haughton under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today (Monday, April 16, 2012) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Betty was born Sept. 20, 1931 in Homer and entered into rest April 14, 2012 in Taylor. She was a member of First Baptist Church Minden where she sang in the Senior Adult Choir for many years. Betty graduated in 1950 and played basketball for Harris High School. She was an artist, musician, Sunday school teacher, and loved flowers.

Her parents, J.T. and Mable Miller Kemp and brother, Bobby Drew Kemp preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, William Carter of Taylor; daughters, Judith D'Angelo and husband, Stephen of Pass Christian, Mississippi and Jean Basham and husband, Ronnie of Minden; sisters, Linda Dillon and husband, Gladney of Homer and Louise White and husband, Steve of DeSoto, Texas; brother, Tommy Kemp and wife, Linda of Minden; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Geoff Monzingo, Rob Basham, Billy D'Angelo, Christian D'Angelo and Andy Partington.
