Ward-Dillard united in marriage

DILLARD_WEDDING937Rendi Lynn Ward and Phillip Michael Dillard were joined in marriage on March 3, during an evening ceremony which began at 6 p.m.. Shane Waites of Minden heard the vows in North Acres Baptist Church, Minden.

The former Miss Ward graduated from Glenbrook School and Louisiana Tech University. She is employed at Stat Home Health Agency as an Assistant Physical/ Occupational Therapy Coordinator with plans to return to school in June. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Randy Ward of Minden.

Mr. Dillard graduated from Minden High and attended Bossier Parish Community College and is presently employed as a Sales Engineer with Red River Pump Specialist of Shreveport. His parents are Rebecca Holder of Haughton and R.T. Holder of Minden.

Leslie Williams Utley of Minden served as soloist for the nuptials and the Reverend Steven Smithson accompanied her on guitar.

All floral creations for the ceremony and the reception as well as catering for the reception, held at Pine Hills Country Club were creations of Billy Dubois, Jr., of Southern Charm in Springhill.

The bride given in marriage by her father, mother and younger sister wore taffeta creation with a beaded tufted bodice. The heavily beaded halter neckline fastened together in the back with tiny lace covered buttons. The same beading cascaded down the front of the gown as well as the full chapel train of the gown. The bride chose to ear a simple jeweled hair piece in her hair for the ceremony. To complete her ensemble, the bride chose to carry a vintage style bouquet of white roses, tulips and hydrangeas. Adding to her bouquet was her great grandmother's handkerchief, a gift from the bride's mother.

Carla Denman Downs of Minden served as the bride's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Cook Arasanagi of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Amy Shrader of New Orleans, Mallory McConnel MacIsaac of Shreveport, Lexie McKenzie of Shreveport, Leslie Williams Utley and the bride's sister, Merry Faith Ward of Minden.

The attendants wore tea length dresses of turquoise in various styles. They each carried small bouquets of yellow tulips, white daisies, turquoise stargazers and greenery wrapped in turquoise ribbon.

The bride's cousin Alex Guin of Minden served as flower girl along with the groom's niece Rylee Dillard of Cotton Valley. Hudson Dillard, also of Cotton Valley, nephew of the groom served as ring bearer. Abbie Guin, cousin of bride, greeted guests to the ceremony.

Serving his brother as the best man was Timmy Dillard of Cotton Valley. Groomsmen were Jesse Davis of Dubach, Jonathon Downs, Josh Utley and Eric Holley of Minden and Corey MacIsaac of Shreveport. They were dressed in khaki slacks and white long sleeved shirts.

The couple plan to honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii in June. The couple currently reside in Minden.
