No. Webster Drug Task Force arrests major distributor
A two-month investigation by North Webster Drug Task Force members yielded a major drug distributor in the Springhill area.
Dewey Wayne Ellerbe, 69, of the 900 block of Reynolds Street, Springhill, has been arrested on one count of distribution of CDS Sch. III (Hydrocodone), two counts of distribution of CDS Sch. V (Soma), distribution of CDS Sch. IV (Diazepam), one count of possession of CDS Sch. IV and two counts of possession of CDS Sch. III.
Webster Parish Sheriff's Lt. Shawn Baker said he, along with Det. Ronald Wedgeworth and Ofc. Andrew Rolen with Springhill Police, served four arrest warrants on Ellerbe at his residence.
"Ellerbe was sitting on the back porch when we arrived," Baker said. "He was placed into custody and when we performed a pat-down, we recovered two pill bottles containing numerous pills. The bottles were not prescription bottles."
The pills were reportedly identified as Diazepam, Hydrocodone and another CDS Sch. III drug.
Ellerbe was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. Bond of the distribution charges totaled $20,000. Bond on the possession charges has not yet been set.
