Amended bill passes House; heads to Senate

The Louisiana House of Representatives passed an amended House Bill 209 last week that will shorten election hours.

Webster Parish Clerk of Court Holli Vining said polling hours for Saturday elections only will be from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., providing the Senate agrees.

"It was amended so that only Saturday elections will change," she said. "As the bill stands, Tuesday elections will remain from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m."
