Spring cleaning set in Sibley

It's time for Spring cleaning in Sibley, and for the third year, the town's residents are asked to spruce up the ol' homestead.

According to Sibley Mayor Jimmy Williams, the Webster Parish Police Jury will be picking up unwanted items beginning at noon Friday, April 13 and starting again at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 14 – but only if residents register in advance.

"If you clean up and want your items picked up, you have to call town hall in order to get your name on a list," Williams said. "If you don't, the workers won't know where to come or what to pick up."

There are items that are off limits – such as paint or any kind of chemicals or regular household garbage. They will, however, collect furniture and tires if they are not on rims.

"The workers are only going to make one pass," Williams said, "so residents must register and get their items out in front of their homes no later than noon Friday."

To find out when and what will be picked up and to register, call Sibley Town Hall at 377-0345.
