Sarah Bradford

Sarah_Bradford*Mrs. Sarah Bradford was born Oct. 6, 1927 in Webster Parish.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Carmar Baptist Church in Houston, Texas where she was a choir member. Upon returning to Minden, she enjoyed and looked forward to attending Victory Praise and Worship Center.

Mrs. Bradford was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars.

She enjoyed life and her favorite pastimes included playing cards, dancing to zydeco and listening to the Saturday morning blues on the radio.

Mrs. Sarah Bradford departed this earthly life on April 4, 2012 at Minden Medical Center. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sharon Epke.

She leaves to cherish her memories her very devoted daughter, Rosa Sterling of Minden; six grandchildren, Yvonne Washington of Los Angeles, California, Cynthia Harris of Arlington, Texas, Melanie Fisher (Eddie) of Homer, Rosie Washington of Shreveport, Carolyn Comeaux (Demetrius) of Cerritos, California, and Shannon Washington of Minden; 21 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; one brother, James Broomfield of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mae Della Broomfield of Magnolia, Arkansas and Annie Mitchell of Minden; goddaughter, Julie Moorehead (Cary) and children, Madeline and Abigail; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be today (Tuesday, April 10) from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Victory Praise and Worship Center with the Rev. Robert Whittaker, officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
