The Lakeside Warriors split a pair of non-district games over the weekend. The Warriors defeated North Webster on Friday, and then lost to St. Mary on Saturday.
Lakeside 7, North Webster 1
The scored in each of the final four innings to take the 7-1 win over North Webster.
Lakeside starter Lance McGuire improved to 5-4 as he went all seven innings to get the win for the Warriors. He allowed no earned runs while striking out nine.
Timothy Griffith had a two-run home run and a single, and Austin Ashley went three-for-four to lead the offense. Clayton Festavan singled and doubled and Chad Basinger doubled. Dakota Shinall, Chase Woodall and Tyler Wallace added base hits.
St. Mary 14, Lakeside 10
“We played really well,” Lakeside coach Bob Gray said. “Much better than the score indicated. We led 7-3 going into the late innings, but we more or less ran out of pitching.”
Woodall led the offense with three doubles and Payton Johnson singled and tripled. Griffith went two-for-three and Wallace added two hits. Shinall and Festavan added singles.
Lakeside is now 14-9 on the season.
