Minden High, Glenbrook get easy district wins

PINEVILLE — The Glenbrook Apaches traveled to Pineville on Thursday for a district game with the Cenla Christian Academy Lions.

Austin Palmier started for Glenbrook and went the first four innings to get the win. He allowed one hit and no earned runs while striking out three. Logan Clark closed out the game with a perfect inning of relief.

Conner Clark led the Apaches’ offense with a pair of hits and two runs batted in. Spencer White, Caydan Maloney, Braden Dickson and Caleb Wilson each added a base hit and two RBIs. Palmier tripled and Micah Johnson went two-for-three. Jacob White added a RBI-single.

The Apaches are scheduled to play at Riverdale on Saturday, and then will host Union Christian on Tuesday before heading to Franklin Academy on Friday.

Minden High sweeps Woodlawn

The Minden Crimson Tide swept a pair of district games from the Woodlawn Knights on Thursday.

The Tide won the first game 19-0 and the second 17-2.

Tyler Zachary picked up the win in both games to move his record to 2-0.

Zachary went two-for-two in the first game, and Turner Francis tripled and drove in three runs.

Sawyer Stephens doubled and Javieon Johnson tripled in game two.

The Tide improved to 18-5 overall and 5-0 in district. Minden will play at Benton Saturday at 1 p.m.
