Towns to feel policy effects

Some local officials are concerned with the burden that a new policy instituted at Tuesday's Webster Parish Police Jury meeting will have on small municipalities in the parish. The policy relates to roadwork done by WPPJ within a municipality's borders.

"These are bedroom communities," District 3 juror Daniel Thomas said. "They don't have Walmart or big stores to give them tax revenues.

"They will probably diminish and the roads will start to look like they are at poverty level. Then no one will want to live there," he continued.
