SIBLEY—The Lakeside Warriors shut out the Northwood Falcons, 10-0 on Friday.
Warrior starting pitcher Lance McGuire evened his record to 4-4 as he held the Falcons to zero runs on two hits over five innings.
The Warriors' bats gave McGuire a big lead with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Lakeside added two more in the second and three more in the bottom of the fourth.
Tyler Wallace led the Lakeside batters with a three-for-three day, with a single, double and a triple. Timothy Griffith and Peyton Johnson both went two-for-two. McGuire, Austin Ashley, Chase Woodall and Luke Griffith all added base hits.
The Warriors record now sits at 12-8 on the season.
The Warriors will host Sterlington on Tuesday, with jv beginning at 4 p.m. and the varsity to follow at 6 p.m.
"They beat us the first time around," Lakeside coach Bob Gray said of Sterlington. "But we play three rounds, and to have a chance to win the district championship we need to beat them on Tuesday. And then we'd still have to beat them again in about a week or so."
