Minden tops North Webster

SPRINGHILL — The Minden Crimson Tide improved to 13-4 on the season with a 3-0 non-district win over the North Webster Knights on Saturday.

The Tide dominated the game despite only scoring three runs. Minden out-hit North Webster eight-to-three in the game, and left nine runners on base during the game. The Tide could have done more damage, as they left the bases loaded twice during the game.

Derek Herrington continued his outstanding play, as he led the Tide in the field and at the plate.

Herrington got the win on the mound as he went the whole game striking out eight. At the plate, he went three-for-four to lead the Minden offense.

Sam Shoemaker added a double and McCaul Lacobee, Turner Francis, Hutton Leppert and Javieon Johnson all singled.

Cole Gray took the loss for North Webster, and Matt O'Neal doubled and Cody Roton and Dylan Modisette both added singles.

The Crimson Tide will host Ruston on Tuesday, before beginning their district play Saturday afternoon at Northwood.

North Webster will play at Castor on Tuesday and at Calvary on Thursday.
