On Saturday, the Warriors dropped a 12-4 game with Northwood before beating North DeSoto, 4-2.

"We played a little better in the North DeSoto game, Lakeside head coach Bob Gray said. "We hit the ball better and scored more runs than we have been, and that helped a lot."

Lance McGuire improved to 3-3 on the year, as he took the win for the Warriors. McGuire went all seven innings allowing one earned run while striking out 10.

"It was a real good performance for Lance," Gray said.

Tyler Wallace led the offense with a double and a triple, and Timothy Griffith singled and doubled. Payton Johnson doubled and Dakota Shinall, McGuire, Clayton Festervan and Chase Woodall all added base hits.

In the 6-0 loss to Natchitoches-Central, Tyler Wallace took the mound and helped out the team.

"In a full tournament like this, you can run out of arms," Gray said. "So the guys you put out there may have to go a little further than they normally do, and that's what Tyler did. Tyler helped us a lot and helped us save some innings for the next day. He really did a good job and battled out there."

Wallace, Johnson, Woodall and Shinall all turned in base hits for Lakeside.

Against Northwood, Matt Robinson evened his record to 1-1 as he took the loss for the Warriors.

Wallace singled and doubled and Griffith and Woodall both doubled. Cameron Corely, Johnson and Shinall all added base hits.
