Be On The Lookout

Minden police ask citizens to be on the look out for armed robber

Minden Police are asking citizens to remain on the look out for a man who robbed a local hotel and pizza delivery person Wednesday around 9 p.m.

The suspect, according to police reports, is a black male approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a camouflage mask, khaki pants, dark blue long sleeved button-up (unbuttoned) shirt with thin white vertical pinstripes, a white t-shirt underneath, old-style Converse shoes black on top and white on the bottom and a watch on his left arm.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, a man reportedly walked into a hotel located on Sibley Road and ordered a delivery person to get on the floor, give him his money and throw his cell phone under a couch, which was close to the victim.

Next, the robber turned to the clerk and demanded all the hotel's money.

"I told him no, that I didn't have access to it," the clerk said.

According to the clerk, the man then pulled a gun on her, read her nametag and said, 'I will come back for you,' and spoke her name.

According to Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper, the suspect collected around $12 from the pizza delivery person and nothing from the clerk.

"That's very little money for the time he's going to spend in prison when we catch him," Cropper said.

The chief said Thursday his officers have combed the wooded area around the hotel, looking for any items the suspect may have dropped.

"We haven't found anything, yet," he said. "Officers are also pulling surveillance video from several surrounding businesses."

Anyone with information about the man in the photo or the robbery, is asked to call Minden Police Department at 371-4226.
