Crimson Tide falls to Parkway Panthers

The Minden Crimson Tide came up short against the Parkway Panthers Tuesday, losing 10-5.

The Tide struggled on the mound, as Parkway pounded out 10 hits and collected 12 walks in the game. the Tide defense also committed three errors.

Offensively, Derek Herrington continued his hot streak, as he went two-for-three with a double. Coltan Haynes and Hutton Leppert also doubled for the Tide, and Turner Francis, Tyler Zachary, Sam Shoemaker and Thomas Pevy all added base hits.

Minden will be back in action Thursday playing Haughton in the Benton Tournament in Haughton. The Tide will play Natchitoches Central on Friday and North DeSoto on Saturday

Minden JV teams split with Ruston

The Minden High freshman and JV Baseball teams hosted the Ruston Bearcats Wednesday evening winning the first game 6-5 and losing the second game, 15-7.

In the first game Austin Keough picked up the win, going the entire way. Keough struck out five batters and only walked two.

Mikey James led the way at the plate, going two-for-two with a double. Jacob Johnson, Austin Keough and Cade Morgan all added base hits.

In the second game, Caleb Jones pitched better than the final score indicated.

Corey DeMoss doubled off the wall, knocking in two runs, and he also did a nice job behind the plate.

Thomas Pevy, Mikey James, Austin Sumner and Carson Bolyer all added base hits for the Crimson Tide.

The JV teams will be in action again next week hosting Loyola on Monday and Parkway on Wednesday.
