Helen Jean Reeder Robinson

Helen_RobinsonMrs. Helen Jean Reeder Robinson was the daughter of Mr. Arthur and Jeffie Johnson Reeder. She was born on Nov. 1, 1925 in Minden.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Light Baptist Church under pastorage of the Rev. J. B. Huey. Mrs. Robinson served her church in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and Church Clerk.

Mrs. Helen Robinson was a graduate of Webster High School Class of 1944.

She united in marriage to Aubrey Robinson and they reared three children, Jeffie Dean Robinson-Frazier, Aubrey Robinson, Jr. and Mildred Jeanette Robinson Harris.

Sis. Robinson loved working with children as evidenced by being employed at Hardy's Kindergarten and St. Rest Day Care. She continued the teaching and learning process as Librarian of the Crichton Hill Branch of the Webster Parish Library. She was an avid reader and encouraged young and old to read more. Mrs. Robinson would wait for the children to get off the bus and invite them in the library to read and check out books.

She was a quiet, hardworking, caring person. She wanted the best not just for her children, but for all children. They were encouraged to behave and become a better person, for the good she saw in them.

Her pride and joy were her surviving family members, her daughter, Jeffie Dean Robinson-Frazier of Hamden, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Wilbert Frazier, II of Hamden, Connecticut, Shawn Harris, Aubrey Harris, Yolunda Harris and Jeffrey Harris, all of Minden; and six great grandchildren, Wilbert Frazier, III, Wesley Frazier, Kenyun Harris, Sydney Harris, TazDariun Harris and Jaylon Harris.

There are a host of relatives and friends, special nieces, nephews, and cousins, too many to name individually.

Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aubrey, Sr.; daughter, Mildred; and son, Aubrey, Jr.

Her desire was to be with the Lord and it has been answered. Her second desire was that the Church on the Hill would continue to grow spiritually.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7 from 10 until 11 a.m. at New Light Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Woodard, officiating. Interment will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Kennon's Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to kennonsmortuary@suddenlink.net.
