Former Minden players pitch against LSU

Colby and Michael Martin pitch well

Former Minden High pitchers Colby and Michael Martin, now pitching for Grambling, took the mound Tuesday night in Alex Box Stadium as Grambling took on the LSU Tigers.

LSU won the game, 17-10 in a slugfest, but both former Tiders pitched well.

Colby entered the game first, when he came in in relief and pitched an inning and two thirds. He allowed four hits and one earned run and struck out a batter. Michael came in to pitch in the bottom the sixth and pitched a third of an inning allowing one hits and retiring the next batter.

Two other Webster Parish players were also on the rosters of the two teams last night but didn't play.

Former Glenbrook Apache Brock Baker pitched earlier in the week for Grambling and was unavailable, and former Lakeside Warrior and current LSU starting left fielder Jackson Slaid missed the game due to a death in the family.
