The Glenbrook Apaches improved to 2-0 with a 6-5 win over the River Oaks Mustangs Thursday afternoon.
The Apaches trailed late but scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to get the win.
Spencer White started on the mound and went four strong innings, striking out five. Logan Clark came in and pitched two scoreless innings in relief to notch the win. Clark struck out the last six batters he faced.
Clark also singled and drove in a run and Micah Johnson had a base hit and two RBIs. Connor Clark singled and Blake Simonton had a key bunt single to keep a late-inning rally alive. Braden Dickson scored the eventual winning run for the Apaches.
"It was a big win for us," Glenbrook head coach Jonathan Hardy said. "The last three years River Oaks has given us a lot of trouble, I felt like our guys really grew up today."
