Glenbrook opens season with big win

The Glenbrook Apaches opened their 2012 baseball season with a big 19-2 home win over Porter's Chapel on Tuesday.

Connor Clark started the game on the mound and took the win for the Apaches. He went two innings, allowing no hits and striking out five. His brother Logan Clark finished out the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.

Cameron Matthews and Mike Johnson both led the Apaches at the plate with two hits each. Johnson was 2/4 with a RBI and Matthews had two singles and a RBI. Connor Copeland drove in two runs with a double and Spencer White, Braden Dickson and Blake Simonton all added singles. Simonton also had a RBI.

The Apaches will play at home again on Thursday when they host River Oaks. The JV game starts at 2 p.m. with the varsity game to follow. The Apaches then play at Riverdale at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
