Dealers out of commission

Local law enforcement makes drug busts

AllenBaileyFrom Springhill to Dixie Inn, local law enforcement agencies are working hard to put away drug dealers.

On February 2, four were taken into custody – including three from Springhill – by the North Webster Drug Task Force.

Det. Ronald Wedgeworth, Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd and Webster Parish Sheriff's Lt. Shawn Baker arrested Ella Allen, 65, of the 1100 block of 3rd Street SW on a warrant for distribution of CDS Sch. III (Hydrocodone). She is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center (BDCC) under a $50,000 bond.

Bonita Joycelyn Bailey, 35, of Camelot Drive, was arrested on warrants for distribution of CDS Sch. II (Hydrocodone) and distribution in a drug-free zone. Her bond is $25,000.

MobleyTask force members visited DeJuan Matrell Mobley, 22, of the 1300 block of Henrietta White, Cullen, with a warrant for distribution of CDS Sch. I (marijuana).

Mobley is being held at BDCC under a $15,000 bond.

Closer to Minden, Webster Parish Sheriff's Community Action Directed Unit, consisting of Capt. Robert Hayden and narcotics deputies Joel C. Thomas and Bobby Igo, III, served warrants on Dequarius D. Thompson, of the 100 block of Southfield Trailer Park, Dixie Inn.Thompson

He is charged with two counts of distribution of CDS Sch. II and illegal carrying of weapons. He was transported to BDCC, where he is held under bonds totaling $115,000.
