Show your heart some love

Research says heart disease is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States. More than 25 percent of all deaths are from heart disease, and it is a leading cause of disability.

"While heart disease can be a scary thing to think about, the implications of not thinking about it are even scarier," said Dr. Phillip Rozeman, Cardiologist at Minden Medical Center. "Thankfully, there are a number of things that can be done to reduce a person's chances of developing heart disease, all of which are included in the American Heart Association 'Simple 7.'"
