Eddie C. Coleman was born March 26, 1937 in Heflin, the second child of the late Addlee Coleman and Rosia Garner Coleman.
After his body grew weary, he passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2012. He was 74 years old.
Eddie C.'s middle name is not short for anything, but if it was, the word would be "Cool."
He attended elementary and high school at Central Consolidated Schools and lived in Heflin all his life. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing with the choir. He retired from W.J. Penton Construction in 2009.
Eddie C. was the beloved husband of Lola Mae Shepherd Coleman for 51 years. To this union, three children were born – Patrick, Anthony and Yronica. Eddie C. and Lola lived in Heflin all of their lives, choosing to raise their children away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
In his spare time, Eddie C. liked to play dominoes, watch action movies and enjoy the camaraderie of his neighbors and friends in the barbershop. Eddie C. eased from this world as he lived his life, quietly and without much fanfare.
Eddie C. was preceded in death by his father, Addlee Coleman; his brother, Elvin Coleman (Novella); and his son, Patrick Coleman (Linda).
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lola; his mother, Rosia Coleman, his children, Anthony and Yronica (Sigmund Daniels); his brother and sisters, Marguerite Qualls, Barbara Coleman, Mildred Pike and Bobby Coleman; his grandchildren, Tiffany Green, Brandy Coleman, Nicole Green, Britney Coleman, Jordan Coleman and Braeden Daniels; his great-grandchild, Jazzlin Sneed; and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 595 Central School Road, Dubberly, LA 71024-2917.
Interment services will follow at Moore Cemetery.
