Emma Lee Robertson Odums

odums_obit877On May 10, 1947, a beautiful baby girl, Emma Lee Robertson Odums was born to the late Gabe Hubbard and Dicie McGlothen. She was born and raised in Oak Ridge but later in life moved to Minden.

She accepted Christ at an early age at New Hope MBC of Oak Ridge. Ms. Odums was currently a member of Ebenezer MBC of Jamestown.

Emma departed this life Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

Emma loved her family. She was greatly loved in return. She was well known in the community from working at Church's Chicken. She always had a great personality, a smile on her face, and loved to cook fish. She was also a member of The Order of The Eastern Star Harmony #81.

Sister Odums was united in marriage to Douglas Lee Odums for 33 years and to this union, three children were born, Rhonda Jefferson, Enid Odums-Campbell and Tobias Odums.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Dicie McGlothen and Gabe Hubbard; stepfather, Samuel B. McGlothen, Sr.; six brothers, Samuel Jr., Billy Ray McGlothen, Albert Taylor, Robert Robertson, Claffert Lee Archie and Robert E. Hubbard; two sisters, Ruthell Foxworth and Mary H. Marshall; and two great-grandsons, Jaden and Jamarea Jefferson.

Emma leaves to cherish her memories three children whom she loved dearly, Rhonda Jefferson, Enid Odums-Campbell and Tobias Odums, all of Minden; seven sisters, Frances Poland (Bennie), Janie Porea, both of Minden, LeBertha Dunn (Sherman) of McDonough, Georgia., Iberia Isley (George) of Camden, New Jersey, Mary Young (Robert), Eura D. Hubbard of Bastrop and Daisy Hubbard of Pennsauker, New Jersey; five brothers, Willie Taylor (Deloris) of Beaumont, Texas, Otis Petifoot of Mer Rouge, Leroy (Pauline), Gaba Hubbard of Camden, New Jersey and Darron Barnes of Mesquite, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Dantaveyia Jefferson, Michael Jefferson, (Jessica), LaGwenia Jefferson, Amanda Owens, Krisdien, Keiron Odoms, Erieana McCoy, Keyana Stanley, Tyesha, Tcoyia and Lakya Odums, six great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who loved her.
